Institutions Research

What are some examples of institutions that would produce my products?

Trailer

BBC Three
www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree

BBC Three is a television network from the BBC broadcaster. The channel’s target audience includes the age group 16-34 year olds. The channel has the purpose of providing ‘innovative’ content to younger audience, focusing on new British talent/actors and technology. The channel shares ‘terrestrial television bandwidth’ with the CBBC Channel, therefore it is on air when the CBBC Channel is not live, from 19:00 to 4:00 each night.
90% of BBC Three’s output is from the United Kingdom, with 80% of the content being original. It aims to cover all genres, from current affairs, to drama to animation. Original ideas discovered and broadcast by BBC Three include Being Human, Gavin and Stacey and Little Britain.
E4 is a British digital television channel, launched as a pay-TV companion to Channel 4. The channel is mainly aimed at the 15-35 year old age group. It broadcasts many US imports such as The O.C., Glee, Desperate Housewives and The Big Bang Theory. It also broadcasts many British programs such as Shameless, Hollyoaks, The Inbetweeners, Skins and Misfits.
Its main viewers are drawn in as the channel often broadcasts shows some of it's American imports up to a week before they are broadcast on terrestrial Channel Four.
The soap concept and the trailer I produce would be suitable for broadcast on either of these channels. They are both aimed at the same target audience that my soap is, so they already have the existing viewing number base. There is also no currrent long running soap screened on either of these channels.
Magazine
IPC stands for Inter-process communication. It is the UKs leading consumer magazine publisher who produces over 60 magazines. Their magazines are read by almost 26 million adults, as well as having online brands which reach 20 million monthly users. They focus on three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women.

IPC is owned by Time Inc who is the publishing department of Time Warner. Time Warner was founded when Time Inc and Warner Communications were merged together. They have major businesses in film and television, as well as publishing. For example, they own Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, Boomerang and CNN, as well as Time Inc.
The male audience division, IPC Inspire, includes brands such as Country Life and Rugby World. As well as lifestyle brands such as Nuts and NME. The mass market women’s division, IPC Connect, is comprised of women’s weeklies such as Look and Now magazines. It also includes TV entertainment brands which include What’s on TV, TV Times and Soaplife. The upmarket women’s division, IPC Southbank, comprises luxury fashion brands such as Marie Claire, lifestyle magazines including woman&home and home interest brands such as Ideal Home. IPC employ over 2,200 people.
The magazine I intend to produce would be released under the 'mass market women's division' IPC Connect. This produces existing, successful magazines such as TV Easy and TV Times.
